THURSDAY THOUGHTS: WHERE AM I?
I know where I am, geographically. I don't mean that. I'm not necessarily lost. But sometimes in order to figure out where you want to go, you need to know where you are first.
These posts are about my writing. If I expanded the inquiry to other areas, I'd be here all day (all night, actually). Believe me, my writing is more than enough to, um, write about.
This week, I'm actively working on four books. Yes, FOUR novels, the first four in my Second Chance Romance series. How the heck can I do that, you ask? Allow me to explain.
1st book-Return to Rainbow Ridge. This was published in September 2020. I recently won another award for it, the Heart Award for Sensual Romance in the 2020 Oklahoma Romance Writers Guild contest. I updated the cover to show this and revised my author bio in Amazon Kindle, Goodreads, and BookBub accordingly.
2nd book-Rule Number One. I'm almost ready to release this. All the external edits are done. I have to make one last pass for continuity, plot holes, and style consistency. Then Grammarly gets one last pass, and that's it. The cover files are done. I'll finish the paperback file first, then convert it to the ePub version for the eBook. Hopefully it will be done sometime early in June.
3rd book-His Kind of Music. I'm working on the first draft in conjunction with my critique group submissions. I'm up to Chapter Nine. I have work to do on the plot details. Literally, a work in progress. The cover is designed.
4th book-Something Missing. I have ideas for the characters and the basic plot. I've written an opening chapter. The basic cover design is done.
What else? I still dabble with several other book ideas, all second chance romances—so far.
All this is about writing—I'm getting pretty good at it. Well, that's what I do. What I need to do is more marketing. It isn't even about selling a gazillion books, but about spreading the word that I have stories to offer that others may—will—enjoy. All I can say is, I'm working on it.
