SATURDAY TIME OUT: AND WE'RE EDITING (AMONG OTHER THINGS)

It’s Saturday night. It’s been a cold day (below freezing), with some snow this morning. babysitting for the entire day meant that I was away from my desktop computer the entire day. While I can work using my iPad, editing a novel is not ideal or even very efficient that way.

And final novel edits require all the help I can get. This is by far much harder than the rest of the writing process for me. Harder to be motivated, harder to accomplish. I will be glad when this first book is ready to release.

When will that be? That’s not a good question fro me to answer right now. Not only am I uncertain, I’d rather not even think about it. Focus on the task at hand—right?

I still have the second book to keep going for my critique group. And, oh yes, the rest of my life goes on, and i have to try to keep up as best I can. There’s nothing more important than finishing my book, but there are important things that are more urgent. And therein lies the trap for a lot of part-time authors. “I need to do this right now—I’ll finish that chapter right after.”

Life goes on, whether I can keep up or not. I just have to keep going. There’s not really any other choice.
