TUESDAY: ANOTHER BUSY DAY
I keep telling people it’s a good thing I retired. I don’t have time for a regular job now. It does seem I’m busier than ever. Right now we’re babysitting grand-daughters while their parents are out of town.
But I am keeping busy with writing. I just sent out the draft of my first novel. Return to Rainbow Ridge, to my Beta Readers for evaluation. I‘m planning to get their feedback by the end of September so I can have it ready to go off to the editor at the beginning of November.
Meanwhile, I’m working on the second book, Rule Number One, maybe having a submission ready for the local writing contest in a couple of weeks. That’s the same contest I got first place for Adult Book last year. It would be great to get a repeat!
I also just made a submission to the “Best Banter Contest,” sponsored by the Mid-Michigan chapter of Romance Writers of America. The submission is part of the back story for my third novel, His Kind of Music. The scne describes the first meeting of the story’s hero and heroine, Wyatt Anderson and Tara Murphy. It won’t be in the actual novel, but I wrote it to understand how they met and how their relationship started. We’ll see how it does jn the contest.
Well, back to work. Taking care of grand-daughters is harder than writing stories—but almost as much fun.
