FRIDAY: NOW WHAT?

It’s official. I have a published book, listed on Amazon Kindle— https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08H7JLSXB. I’ve also listed it on Goodreads and Bookbub. I’ve posted it on Facebook. Now what’s next?

First, I need to do some marketing, at least on those three platforms. I’m not sure how effective and costly they will be. As a former project manager, I’ll be looking for the most bang for the buck. That’s an ongoing story to be continued.

Meanwhile, I’m working ardently on book number two: Rule Number One. I’m at the critical point where everything is falling apart, and the next thing is how it all comes together to lead to the happily-ever-after ending. I have the end, I know where I am now. I just have to figure out the big event that connects the two. And I’m working on the cover, which is 90% designed. It will be another great photo, significant to the story. I hope I can get it published by early next year.

Finally, I am reviewing my future writing. I have considered whether the world that is changing daily is what i should be accurately reflecting in my stories. Epidemics, politics, social unrest, all of these are not necessarily what I want to write about. Not that I don’t take all of those things seriously. I do. Our world is changing, and many of the changes are needed and may even be better for us. But it is not something that we can always find simple, logical answers for, more something that is complex and often beyond our understanding. I acknowledge that there is much I do not understand and probably more that I do not know. How does—should—all that affect my writing? I guess we will all see, including me, in the coming weeks and months.
