STILL HERE—STILL WRITING

It's embarrassing how long it's been since I posted anything on this blog. Not weeks, but months—more than two months.

I could give all kinds of excuses. In those two months, the pandemic has swirled all around, up and down, with no sign of departing any time soon. Politics in America has degraded to a level that I can't even put into words. Locally, we had the ice storm of decades that left us without power for almost two weeks (remember, no power means no Internet and little writing).

It wasn't like I was doing nothing. I was indeed writing. I've finished the first draft of my second book, Rule Number One. It should be ready any day to send out to my beta readers for their invaluable critique. Then, hopefully in early January, it will go to a new editor for final review. I plan to have it released by Valentines Day—we'll see.

I've even begun the first chapters of my third novel, His Kind of Music. That's a bit slow-going, since I've changed the location from San Francisco to London, so a lot more research goes along with the writing.

I'll try to do better in the future. The creative writing will always be the part of all this I'll want to focus on, no matter how vital the rest of the process is. As long as I get to write, I'll try to keep up with the other stuff.
