IT'S AUGUST - RIGHT?
I know, I know. It’s been a while—okay, quite a while—since I’ve written anything on this page. But I swear it hasn’t because I’ve been lazy or goofing off. I’ve been as busy as ever, maybe more so.
These times we’re seeing, with the health issues and the political and social unrest, make it all the more difficult to be productive. While I do worry about a lot of things, it doesn’t keep me from writing. In fact, I’ve been doing a LOT of writing.
I’m almost afraid to put it into words, but I think I’m ready to publish my first book, Return to Rainbow Ridge. It’s exciting and scary all rolled into one. The cover is done—both eBook and paperback—and the text is done and being formatted for the Kindle system. I hope to have it ready by the end of August.
Is it perfect? I have no doubt it will be the worst book I will ever write. But that’s a good thing because it means they will just get better from here.
Speaking of which, my second book, Rule Number One, is well underway and going through the critique group process. I was hoping I could get to the point where I can do two books a year, but that still seems a ways off.
I’m still busy with activities for my church, more than ever. Besides being treasurer and programming the music for services, I’m redoing the church’s website to a new format and design. It’s a ton of work right now but will allow others in the future to maintain and update the website.
I’ll repost the video trailer for Return to Rainbow Ridge later. And I’ll announce when the book is finally released on Kindle. Gosh, I thought I’d never say that. Almost there!
