THURSDAY: THOUGHTS OF LOST LOVE
Lost love: that’s what second chance romances are made of, the kind of stories I’ve been writing. One much lose a love to have a chance to find it again. That time between the first chance at love and the second time around, often many years later, can be a painful, bittersweet period.
You thought you had found “the one” for you, your soulmate, the love of your life. But now she’s gone, for whatever reason. It hurts, often a lot, to remember, but you can’t seem to let go of the past, of all the memories.
This song linked below is one of my all-time favorites, performed by Ilsa De Lange, a well-known Dutch singer. Never mind the beautiful melody, it’s the words that make it so unforgettable. “I Still Cry;” a fitting theme for the subject of this post. When you remember a lost love, it often brings on the tears. The lyrics describe what it’s like:
I still cry sometimes when I remember you
I still cry sometimes when I hear your name
I said goodbye and I know you're alright now
But when the leaves start falling down I still cry
