TUESDAY TUNES: THE LONGEST TIME

It’s Tuesday—right? The days flow together, one much like the one before. The one constant for me is my writing and my desire to be more motivated. I’m writing every day, one thing or another. I try to focus on one or the other of my first two books, Return to Rainbow Ridge and Rule Number One.

When my focus wanes, I sometimes turn to YouTube for some entertainment, and occasionally some enlightenment. I ran across this video, one of my very favorite songs by Billy Joel, The Longest Time. Billy Joel is one of the most talented songwriters ever. This is one of his best.

The lyrics begin,

If you said goodbye to me tonight, There would still be music left to write
What else could I do. is m so inspired by you
That hasn't happened for the longest time

This lines up with a concept I’ve written for inclusion in some future book:

"This is a moment.. It’s great all on it’s own. It doesn’t matter what happens before or after For it to be great.”
