SUNDAY DONE: BUT NOT QUITE FINISHED
It’s not finished, but done—for now. I’ve sent Return to Rainbow Ridge off to my editor. I’ll get her feedback by Thanksgiving.
It’s a relief to have it reach another milestone, and frankly, to get it off of my desk, for a while at least.
It’s also very stressful. A PROFESSIONAL EDITOR is reviewing MY novel in detail! Yikes! Once she’s done, then there’s nothing left but to fix everything—and publish it. No big deal.
I’ve also taken another big step. I ordered some bookmarks advertising Return to Rainbow Ridge. The big step there is that I had to put an “available on Amazon Kindle” date on them: January 2020. It may be ready before then, but I figured that was a safe date.
So—now what? It’s back to the second book, Rule Number One, which I’ve already started in earnest. My critique group starts its review of it a week from tomorrow. I have a lot of research to do, but I’ve got a general idea of the plot and the characters.
Of course, I’m also thinking about other stories, beyond even these first four. I got another story idea only today, from my wife. The horrendous fires in California are unfortunately all too familiar to me, having grown up in suburban southern California. The story idea involves a firefighter, the heroic handsome type, who reacues a lone woman with her horses, only to find it’s an old girlfriend from his past. Interesting concept . . .
That's it for now. More later, when i take a break from writing.
